Contact Your Legislator
The Michigan Restaurant Association has a successful track record of a vocal grassroots network when it comes to political advocacy, and we want YOU to always be heard.
Legislators take the comments, questions, and concerns of local businesses seriously. We want you to have the opportunity to get involved and communicate directly with your legislator(s). Here are a few ways you can get involved:
Here are some helpful tips for contacting your legislator:
- If writing a letter, use company letterhead or include local address.
- Be straight forward.
- When discussing a specific issue, give the bill number, a short description of the bill, and tell them your position and how it will be effected by the legislation.
- Use REAL LIFE EXAMPLES from your business to illustrate your opinion.
- Urge your legislator to give the situation serious consideration and thank them for support of opposition.
