| NEWSLETTER - MRA Offers Alcohol Safety |
Administering responsible beverage alcohol service training is your way of protecting the liability of your business and the safety of your guests. This do-it-yourself training, sponsored by the MRA, is designed to teach managers, bartenders and servers the knowledge, confidence and tools necessary to safely and responsibly serve beverage alcohol.
In 2002, more than 300 students received training through the MRA's food safety course, ServSafeĻ, and its Bar CodeĻ training class, which teaches restaurant employees how to serve alcohol safely and responsibly.
"A chief function of the MRA is to provide our members with the most up-to-date education and training courses available, so their employees learn and understand critical issues, like safe and proper guidelines for serving beverage alcohol," said MRA Executive Director Rob Gifford.
Beyond the benefits of having a knowledgeable and responsible staff that come with Bar CodeĻ training, are an increased savings on liquor liability insurance premiums for MRA members. The alcohol safety program is endorsed by the MRA's liquor liability insurance carrier, CNA, as well as the Michigan Liquor Control Commission. |
