The Senate is getting ready to act on reforms of Michigan's Highway Advertising Act. The comprehensive ten bill package (SB 445-455) increases fees and fines, gives counties a role in regulating billboards, strengthens government's ability to remove nonconforming signs, provides for a moratorium on new construction and reduces proliferation by increasing spacing between billboards.
