MRA Member to Compete on Top Chef: Las Vegas
Chef Eve Aronoff – chef-owner of Eve restaurant in Ann Arbor’s Kerrytown district – will compete this fall on Bravo’s “Top Chef: Las Vegas,” the sixth season of the top-rated cable series, the network announced Wednesday.
Aronoff, 40, was classically trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, but her contemporary cooking style is known for its bold, exotic flavors and eclectic international influences that range from Cuba and Africa to Vietnam. Her intimate restaurant, opened in 2003, features a seasonally changing menu, an outstanding wine list and a casually sophisticated ambiance.
Aronoff is a member of the Michigan Restaurant Association and did cooking demonstrations at the association’s Michigan Restaurant Show in 2007.
She has cooked at the prestigious James Beard Foundation headquarters in New York City and is the author of her own cookbook.
Contestants are not allowed to discuss how they fared in the series, which has already been taped. The season will begin at 9 p.m. August 26, with 17 professional chefs from all over the country. Aronoff is the only current Michigan chef to win a spot on the show.
Celebrity guest judges this season will include Wolfgang Puck, Todd English, Daniel Boulud, Charlie Palmer and Laurent Tourondel, among others, the network said. The “Top Chef” winner will receive $200,000 in prizes and products and be featured in Food & Wine magazine.
