Michigan Restaurant Association Elects Two New Members to Board

The Michigan Restaurant Association (MRA) announced the election of two new members to its Board of Directors:  Fred Moore, president and co-owner of Magnum Hospitality in Traverse City, and Jerry Heck, chief financial officer of Bill Thomas Halo Burgers, Inc. in Flint.

“These two MRA members bring to the board 60 years of combined experience with their work in the hospitality and restaurant industry,” said MRA Executive Director Rob Gifford. “The MRA is fortunate to have such driven individuals serving on its board who are dedicated to helping the foodservice and hospitality industry flourish in Michigan.  We know Jerry and Fred will make great additions to the leadership of this organization, and we’re excited to welcome them aboard.”

Fred Moore, president and co-owner of Magnum Hospitality in Traverse City, brings his passion for food, a keen business sense and more than 28 years of professional experience to his new position as a member of the MRA Board of Directors.  Fred has two long time friends as partners in the company.  Fred enjoys being a mentor to the many young people in the business, showing them that the restaurant industry can be a fun and satisfying career.  He and his wife Colby have two children.

Jerry Heck, chief financial officer of Bill Thomas Halo Burgers, Inc. in Flint, brings more than 31 years of professional experience, an appetite for excellence, and a commitment to service to the MRA Board.  In addition to his career, Jerry is involved in the leadership of numerous community, faith and charitable groups.  He and his wife Chris have two children.
