Farmington Hills-based public relations agency and marketing firm Marx Layne & Co. named Adam Rochkind, formerly an intern with the firm, as account assistant. CBS Detroit and UPN Detroit hired Randi Rayl, formerly an intern in the sales and marketing departments of WWJ and WKBD, as a retail sales account executive.

Detroit-based Mariners Inn, a shelter and treatment center for the homeless, promoted David Sampson from clinical director to deputy director and appointed Barbara Prues, formerly a senior agency relations consultant for United Way Community Services, as fund-raising director. Rex Schlaybaugh Jr., chairman and CEO of Dykema Gossett PLLC, was elected to the board of directors of the Metropolitan Affairs Coalition. Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills named Dan Bonbrisco, who has 30 years of experience as a physician and health care administrator, as vice president and chief medical officer. Detroit-based DeMaria Building Co. hired Michael Piecuch, formerly a human resource manager for Edward C. Levy Co., as human resource manager. Livonia-based TRW Automotive Holdings Corp. elected Jody Miller, a venture partner with Maveron LLC, to its board of directors.

The Michigan Restaurant Association elected Fred Moore, president and co-owner of Magnum Hospitality in Traverse City, and Jerry Heck, chief financial officer of Bill Thomas Halo Burgers Inc. in Flint, to its board of directors.

The Lake Orion-based office of Cobasys, a provider of battery systems for vehicles, announced the following personnel changes: Stephen Allen, formerly vice president and chief financial officer, was named vice president of administration; Joseph Crocenzi, formerly its comptroller, was named vice president of finance; and Deborah Davies, formerly a human resource manager, was named director of human resources. Waterford-based Van Horn Concrete promoted Dennis Malugin from vice president to senior vice president and stockholder.
