Michigan Restaurant Association Elects Steve Loftis of Grand Haven to Board of Directors
The Michigan Restaurant Association (MRA) announced the election of a new member to its Board of Directors: Steve Loftis, owner of four restaurants in Grand Haven. Loftis owns and operates Snug Harbor, Dee Lite Bar and Grill, Theatre Bar, and the Grand Seafood and Oyster Bar.
“Steve Loftis brings a wealth of hospitality industry and business development experience to the Board,” said MRA Executive Director Rob Gifford. “The MRA is fortunate to have such driven individuals serving on its board who are dedicated to helping the foodservice and hospitality industry flourish in Michigan. We know Steve will be a great addition to the leadership of this organization, and we’re excited to welcome him aboard.”
Loftis has been in the hospitality industry for more than thirty years. He got his start working in hotels and eventually got into restaurants. He and his wife Carole have three children.
The Board of Directors is the governing body for the MRA, and, according to Gifford, will lead the association and the industry through a number of challenges in 2006. “The Michigan restaurant industry faces some serious challenges this year,” said Gifford. “With our uncertain economy, rising energy costs and some serious regulatory threats, it will not be an easy year for restaurateurs. That is why we are glad to have Steve Loftis serving the industry on the MRA Board.”
