Be
at the table – or be on the menu
Get
involved in the MRA Legislative and Political Action Program
LANSING, MI – There’s an old saying that if you don’t want to get involved in politics,
then be ready for politics to get involved in your business. Restaurateurs can defend the restaurant
industry and advance the industry cause by becoming a part of the MRA
grassroots movement.
Now more than ever, restaurant
operators need to be at the table making their voices heard on issues such as
minimum wage, taxes, regulations, and many others.
There’s nothing to lose – and
everything to gain – by getting involved in defending your business and your
industry from overzealous government regulation and taxation. Despite some of the myths and fears about
communicating with lawmakers, it’s easy, and you can be effective doing only a
little bit, or by doing a lot. You can
write a check, or simply make a phone call.
You can travel to Washington DC to meet with a member of
Congress, or you can walk to your desktop computer and write an email to a
state representative. Whatever issues
interest you, and whichever level of involvement you want to have, we need your
help – and so do your fellow restaurant operators. How much involvement you have,
