MRA InfoCenter piece now available to help you understand your rights and responsibilities during an organizing effort
Will you know what to do when your employees attempt to join a union?
LANSING, MI – Federal law regarding union organizing is complex and, if not understood by employers, potentially hazardous to your ability to operate a successful business.
Do you know what to do if:
• one or more of your employees is talking with their fellow employees about organizing a union?
• you receive a package in the mail from a union?
• an employee claims he or she was disciplined unjustly because of their support for a union?
If you’re not sure how to answer any of these questions, a new free resource from the Michigan Restaurant Association can help you avoid serious legal challenges and employee relations problems. Now available on the MRA website’s InfoCenter, this piece clarifies rights and responsibilities concerning union organizing efforts.
The best way to avoid problems is to be armed with the information you need before they pop up! MRA members can visit the members-only section of the website to get this invaluable information for free, or call 800.968.9668, and learn the “do’s” and “don’ts” before you are confronted with an organizing effort.
