Michigan Restaurant Association Elects Officers for 2009
Bob Fish to Lead the MRA
LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Restaurant Association (MRA) today announced the election of its 2009 officers to lead the organization, which represents more than 4,500 Michigan food and beverage service establishments.
Bob Fish was elected to serve as chairman of the Board of Directors; Matt Durack was elected to serve as vice chairman; and Steve Loftis was elected to serve as treasurer.
Fish, a resident of East Lansing, co-founded East Lansing-based Biggby Gourmet Coffee, formerly known as Beaner’s, and Global Orange Development LLC, the franchisor for the Biggby brand.
“Michigan’s food and beverage industry faces enormous challenges in 2009, and I am ready to lead,” Fish said. “The members of this association have placed a great trust in me, and I am humbled and honored to serve.”
Durack, of Lake Orion, the new vice chairman for the association, is president of Cregar Enterprises, an executive food services management firm based in Lake Orion that focuses in exceptional quality and upscale presentation.
Loftis, a resident of Grand Haven, operates five independent dining and entertainment establishments in downtown Grand Haven.
“It has never been tougher than it is now to operate a successful restaurant business in Michigan,” said Rob Gifford, resident and chief executive officer for the MRA. “These outstanding individuals will provide the association and the industry with steady leadership, making sure we continue to represent the best interests of Michigan restaurateurs.”
