New downtown restaurant construction showing progress

TECUMSEH - The Johnson family is pretty excited these days as their new business starts to take shape in the city's former fire station.
Aptly named The Evans Street Station, the former fire barn looks nowhere near like its former self. With most of the drywall work completed, crews are beginning to work on surfacing, from setting field stone around the fireplace to installing wood panels soon to be stained dark mahogony.
General Manager Liz Johnson and her father-in-law, Dick, gave a recent tour to members of the Economic Development Department and City Manager Frank Crosby.
Johnson expects to open in early May.
Applications for employment at the Evans Street Station are being accepted for all positions. For more information, call Liz Johnson at 423-3124.
