Local Restaurateur Named to Michigan Restaurant Association Board of Directors

LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Restaurant Association (MRA) has named Mackinac Island restaurateur Patti Ann Moskwa to its statewide Board of Directors.

"It's an honor to be elected to the Michigan Restaurant Association Board of Directors," said Moskwa. "My hospitality experience at one of the busiest tourist spots in Michigan gives me a unique perspective on the industry. Through the MRA Board, I look forward to sharing that perspective with my colleagues across the state and advancing Michigan?s hospitality industry."

Moskwa, a third-generation restaurateur, managed the Ram's Horn Bar & Restaurant (now Horn's Gaslight Bar) on Mackinac Island and became a co-owner in 1987. In 1996, she co-founded the island's Yankee Rebel Tavern. A member of the Mackinac Island Tourist Bureau, Moskwa has also served on the Mackinac Island School Board and Mackinac Island Planning Commission.

Founded in 1921, the Michigan Restaurant Association represents nearly 4,000 Michigan foodservice establishments. The foodservice industry plays an integral role in Michigan's economy, employing more than 300,000 people and creating $10.6 billion in annual sales. # # #
