Southfield Businessman Named to Statewide Position
LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Restaurant Association (MRA) has named Galen Bingham of Southfield as a new member of its Board of Directors.
As Manager of Sales Development for Coca-Cola Fountain, Bingham manages a team of nine Sales Associates in central and eastern Michigan. He began his career in sales with Kraft General Foods Company, working in Connecticut, Pennsylvania and New York. In 1995, Bingham joined the Coca-Cola Company as an Account Executive in northern Ohio.
“It is a fantastic honor to be appointed to the Board of Directors,” Bingham said. “The MRA is focused on educating restaurateurs about methods, resources and tools for increasing their profitability, which falls in line beautifully with what I am trying to do at the Coca-Cola company.”
“The MRA is proud to welcome this multi-talented man to our Board of Directors,” MRA Executive Director Rob Gifford said. “His knowledge from working with Kraft Foods and Coca-Cola Fountain will be a great asset to the board.”
Bingham received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Okla.
The MRA represents more than 3,500 eating and drinking establishments statewide. On a typical day, more than 4 million meals are purchased from Michigan foodservice establishments.
