Bob Evans employees have the opportunity to earn scholarships of up to $4,000 thanks to a new partnership between the company and the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRA EF). The scholarships will be awarded to eligible employees who desire to continue their education in food service-related fields.
Scholarship recipients are selected from applicants who are high school seniors or attending college and have maintained a grade point average of 2.75 or higher, fulfilled the minimum hour requirements of food service work experience and submitted a letter of recommendation. The NRA EF awards scholarships valued at $2,000. Bob Evans will match the award presented to any of its employees who meet the criteria and are selected to receive the more than 300 NRA EF scholarships available each year.
“It is important for us to join forces with the National Restaurant Association on this scholarship program,” said Senior Vice President of Restaurant Operations Rinzy Nocero. “As the industry continues to grow, we need to make more and more people aware of the opportunities in the restaurant industry. This is an excellent way to do that.”
Applications for the scholarship are submitted directly to the NRA and can be completed electronically at www.fastweb.com All application evaluation and judging for the scholarship is done by the association’s educational foundation. Additional information about the scholarships can be found at www.edfound.org, the web site for the NRA EF.
Bob Evans currently owns and operates 455 full-service, family restaurants principally in the East North Central, mid-Atlantic and Southern United States, as well as Texas. The company also is a leading producer of food products under the Bob Evans and Owens Country Sausage brand names.
