Walled Lake's first coffee house

The Walled Lake Downtown Authority (DDA) has announced the opening of Cafe Travail, Walled Lake's first coffee house, located at 1123 E. West Maple in the West Maple Plaza in the downtown area.

Cafe Travail, translated in French as "cafe work," is the creation of Walled Lake entrepreneur Deborah Lutzo, owner of the Works Salon & Wellness Center. The cafe is the key component of the Works expansion from 1,800 square feet to 8,000 square feet. Lutzo, having had an extensive background in the restaurant field before entering cosmetology, has studied healthy food preparation/presentation and will offering coffee specialty drinks, pastries, bagels, wrap sandwiches, soups served in bread bowls, fruits, salads, and seasonal frozen yogurt creations. Sidewalk seating will be made available in the summer. Cafe Travail will be open from 6 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. Friday, and from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Sunday. Its phone number is currently the same as the Works Salon, (248) 669-3130.
