McCormick & Schmick's proves to be quite a catch

Even on a Monday evening, phone McCormick & Schmick's in Troy and you can hear the background chatter. It has a Saturday night buzz.
In a free-standing building strategically located just south of Saks Fifth Avenue at the Somerset (please don't call it a mall) Collection, the newest link in the Oregon-based chain has caught the local imagination.
With its daily-dated menu and unpretentious setting, No. 32 in the parent company's roster has had as successful an opening as Bill McCormick and Doug Schmick could wish for.
Some 3,300 people have been stopping by for lunch and dinner every week, says general manager Sharon Bartlett.
And of the dozens of species available, the most popular dish is salmon, she says. Salmon stuffed with crabmeat, Brie and bay shrimp is the dinner choice, with salmon saute the winner at lunch.
