Coffee Beanery signs Mideast, S. Korea expansion pacts

FLUSHING - The Coffee Beanery, with 180 U.S. locations, signed agreements with two franchisees to extend its fledgling international presence to the Middle East and South Korea.
The Sterling Group, which franchises such brands as A&W; and Ponderosa throughout the Middle East, agreed to open Coffee Beanery stores in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Quatar and Kuwait. Separately, the Jun family will open locations in South Korea. Both franchisees have begun Coffee Beanery development.
Currently, the chain's only international location is Guam.
