What It Is
ServSafe® is the industry standard for food safety education. The Michigan Department of Agriculture has approved, and recognizes, ServSafe® certification as meeting all of the food Code of 2000 requirements, including local health department mandates. ServSafe® training empowers you and your employees to protect against foodborne illness outbreaks, minimize insurance costs, reduce liability risks, and improve food quality. ServSafe® Food Safety Certification Options

ServSafe® Proctor Exam: There's no need to sit through the class if you have the knowledge! A National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRA EF) approved instructor/proctor can verify your credentials and administer your exam. Proctored exams are available every Tuesday, by appointment, at various locations across the state. The ServSafe® exam consists of 90 questions. Testers must receive at least a 75% to pass this test and obtain their Food Safety Certificate. All tests are graded by the NRAEF and take approximately 14-21 business days to process.

MEMBER PRICE: Exam Only: $55.00 - Price includes: ServSafe® Food Protection Manager proctored exam. ServSafe® Essentials Book AND Exam: $80.00 - Price includes: A study book which covers basic principles necessary to maintain food safety procedures, the 2001 FDA Food Code updates and prepares individuals for the ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification examination, along with the exam itself. NON-MEMBER PRICE: Exam Only: $85.00 - Price includes: ServSafe® Food Protection Manager proctored exam. ServSafe® Essentials Book AND Exam: $110.00 - Price includes: A study book which covers basic principles necessary to maintain food safety procedures, the 2001 FDA Food Code updates and prepares individuals for the ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification examination, along with the exam itself.

ServSafe® Train-the-Trainer Course: You can become an on-site trainer. This class provides industry professionals the opportunity to become certified trainers knowledgeable of the tools and techniques to lead effective ServSafe® classes.

Prerequisite: 90% or higher on ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification Examination within the last 3 years.
