Local Codes
It is important to consider any requirements that your state or locality may have regarding the creation or designation of non-smoking and smoking areas. Some jurisdictions may require a certain percent of your establishment be designated as non-smoking; others may require a certain amount of space between non-smoking and smoking areas or require specific ventilation requirements to accommodate smoking in your establishment.

A Web site called Buildingteam is a great resource to learn more about researching your local codes and ordinances. Always be sure that you are in compliance with all laws and regulations governing smoking and ventilation within your establishment.
